Yes, you read the title correctly. LX Games is officially shutting down.
This is simply due to a series of losses over the past months. There was a time, not too long ago, when LX Games was more popular than the Boxingwolf site itself. It would get upwards of 100 unique visitors on a good week. However, we hardly get any now, due to a lack of content to produce. The one game we were working on was Codename Survivor, however that was plagued from the start.
Infinitum: Survivor was the working title for the game during development. It was going great in February/March, and we saw the light at the end of the tunnel. It was expected to be released in the fall of this year. However, in late May, our artist quit the team. This was a huge blow to the game's development that went unannounced. By mid-June, it was clear to me the game could not be completed. My business partner who had been there from the beginning, was appearing less and less, and so was the name "LX Games" in our conversations. I realized I was the only one contributing at this point, and that if I were to continue making games and apps, I would be doing it on my own. Couple that with the fact that my hard work was barely getting any attention, and it left me frustrated. Just thinking about the business left me upset. So finally, I thought about moving on from LX Games, and closing down the site for good.
So what happens to my code? I still want to do this kind of stuff, just not in that kind of environment. I want to make games on my own officially, and just bring in help if I need it. I want to build a new studio from the ground up, where I am the sole proprietor, as the government tells me I am. I hope you all know that the best days are still to come. I will still make games, I will still enjoy doing it, and I will still be doing everything else I have been doing for over a year.
Thanks for your continued support,
