Hello, internet!
Seeing as net neutrality was just repealed in the United States, I figured I should say something about it. So, I made a game about it! Internet Simulator 2K18 is a game about what the internet could look like in the not-so-distant future, without American laws protecting net neutrality. It's not so much of a game as it is a joke, and it is just as much a joke as it is a statement on the FCC and net neutrality's abolishment. As a Canadian, these new changes won't affect me as of right now, but i have a feeling a lack of web traffic will push prices up world wide. I felt it was my duty as a tiny indie creator to say something. Thanks for the support as always, and I hope you enjoy the game.

Hey, internet! I regret to inform you I have returned to annoy you once again. And yes, I am alive. I am working on developing new games, something that has always given me joy, as well as putting together new electronic music. I am also in high school now, though, so things are slow. Right now, I just want to be someone who comments on games on Newgrounds, or tweets about gaming things. Speaking of Twitter, by the way... Thanks!
Hello, everyone!
First off, I'd like to sincerely apologize for not being as active as I maybe should have been on this site. My last blog post was more than a month ago, and I feel bad about not updating anyone. Despite this, all you really need to know is that I'm okay, I'm 14, and I'm still doing everything I was doing before. Now that I have some time to work on it, this site will likely look different soon. The "My Projects" page will look a little more like a structured resume, and I'm thinking of making some new art. In addition, I want to take my game Infinitum: Legends (from the days of LX Games,) and turn it into something great. I don't think it'll be coming out any time soon, but it's possible if I find the right motivation, I guess. On top of all that, I want to thank you all for your continued support, even throughout this recent drought of information. So, thanks! Hopefully I can blog again soon. Hey, everyone.
For the past 4 and a half years, I have owned and operated a YouTube channel. It has gone through a number of name changes, but most recently it has been known as Magnamex. This past week, however, I have decided to stop producing YouTube videos, and to private all 655 existing videos. This allows me to continue to watch my own videos, and reflect on them, and laugh at them, but does not allow anyone else to see them. There are a number of reasons I have decided to do this. However, the only reason that concerns you is that I want to start fresh. I created the channel when I was 9 years old, and I will admit that the subject of quitting has been on my mind for over a year at this point, because of all the "stupid stuff" that I no longer want out there. I'm not saying that I will create another YouTube channel in the future. However, I have been planning a number of interesting projects recently, all of which will be officially announced here on this site. I sincerely hope these new endeavours will be not only more successful, but also more interesting and engaging. Thanks as always. -Sincerely, Boxingwolf Hey everyone. I updated the background art on the home page today, and updated the About Me section of the page.
Right now, I'm busy writing stories, programming, and working as a music producer (more on that one at a later date.) I'm busy, but not overly so. It's nice right now; I'm enjoying my summer. I hope you are too. Hello everyone! Today, I am proud to announce Digital Nature, a new electronic music album, available on Bandcamp NOW!
Digital Nature continues down the path that Awaken the Pack started. Although being a shorter album, Digital Nature is the end of an era. The closing part to a trilogy that formed itself over the past 7 months. I hope you enjoy the new record, though it's closer to an EP than an LP. Still, I think you'll love it. Enjoy! The next update to ICE is here! Here's a devlog entry about it:
Features UI: -Blur effect on main menu screen -Better-looking buttons -Better site experience: No load time within the game -Small changes to text and fonts -One or two colour changes Physics: -Completely overhauled physics system -ADVANCED COLLISION! -Objects no longer fall through the ground at all -Objects can fall on top of each other, and they stack -IMPROVED GRAVITY: -Multiple objects can fall at once (finally!) -You can now change the gravitational strength in your world -10 is somewhat earth-like And of course, a bunch of fixes! Enjoy! So that's about it! This will be one of the last beta versions, so be sure to check it out! Hello, everyone!
I'm happy to announce today that I am resuming development of ICE, my indie sandbox game. Here's the game's official description: ICE stands for "Imagine, Create, Enjoy." This is a game all about building whatever you want. Want to build a house? Go ahead. Want to build a house with 20 different rooms? Go ahead. Want to build a house with 20 different rooms that goes directly against the laws of physics and floats in mid air? *CATCHES BREATH* Go ahead. Just click to place objects, and press Z to undo them. You can change the properties of each object, in the control bar at the top of the screen. ICE has no story, mission, achievements, "blocks," or set materials. EVERYTHING is up to you. The final version of ICE will cost $0.99, but while it's in beta, it's free! So be sure to check out the current beta version, and check back here at the blog over the next while to find out about upcoming updates. Thanks! Yes, you read the title correctly. LX Games is officially shutting down.
This is simply due to a series of losses over the past months. There was a time, not too long ago, when LX Games was more popular than the Boxingwolf site itself. It would get upwards of 100 unique visitors on a good week. However, we hardly get any now, due to a lack of content to produce. The one game we were working on was Codename Survivor, however that was plagued from the start. Infinitum: Survivor was the working title for the game during development. It was going great in February/March, and we saw the light at the end of the tunnel. It was expected to be released in the fall of this year. However, in late May, our artist quit the team. This was a huge blow to the game's development that went unannounced. By mid-June, it was clear to me the game could not be completed. My business partner who had been there from the beginning, was appearing less and less, and so was the name "LX Games" in our conversations. I realized I was the only one contributing at this point, and that if I were to continue making games and apps, I would be doing it on my own. Couple that with the fact that my hard work was barely getting any attention, and it left me frustrated. Just thinking about the business left me upset. So finally, I thought about moving on from LX Games, and closing down the site for good. So what happens to my code? I still want to do this kind of stuff, just not in that kind of environment. I want to make games on my own officially, and just bring in help if I need it. I want to build a new studio from the ground up, where I am the sole proprietor, as the government tells me I am. I hope you all know that the best days are still to come. I will still make games, I will still enjoy doing it, and I will still be doing everything else I have been doing for over a year. Thanks for your continued support, Boxingwolf Hello to everyone on the internet! I hope you've all had a great month, and I apologize for not posting here in a while. However, I have been busy writing, filming, editing, producing, and promoting my new series, The Gateway. The Gateway recently wrapped up its 5-episode run, and now I'm moving on to my next order of business, to be revealed in the coming days.
However, beyond that I want to wish everyone a happy Canada Day, especially in the midst of the Canada 150 celebrations. I am a proud Canadian teen, and I am also celebrating alongside my family and friends. Despite this excitement, and the cheerful celebration of our beautiful, happy, forward-thinking country, there is still plenty of work to be done here. Perhaps the biggest issue to be addressed, is the mistreatment of first nations peoples throughout Canadian history. For many years, global media has portrayed Canada as a country that has always been entirely peaceful and welcoming. However, the ugly truth within our borders is the existence of strong, intentional genocidal actions taken by European settlers against indigenous Canadians, including the implementation of cruel and inhumane residential schools. These schools were just one form of brainwashing employed by the Europeans to force the first nations peoples to change their culture, religion, beliefs, governments, borders, laws, and many other structured systems they had in place. After this horrific destruction of culture, the Canadian government as it stands today was erected, and Canada grew from there into what it is now. Although the last residential school closed in 1996, and the Canadian government has been seeking acceptance from the aboriginal community for some time now, there is still much work to be done in the way of making Canada a safe and inclusive place for everyone. Despite all this, I still truly believe that Canada may very well be the nicest and safest place in the world to live, and I remain in a celebratory spirit. I am looking forward to seeing what Canadians can do together next. To my friends around the world, I hope you all enjoy this weekend, and I hope you all have a great time. As for my personal blogging habits, I once again apologize for not posting as of late. I figured I'd make some room today to write this though, as I felt it was an important post. I'm going to try and post more over the coming days and weeks, and I have some huge announcements to make soon. Thanks for all the support in my, even in absence, and have a great weekend. |
